Our Story

Often, we hear that “politics is off-limits for dinner.” Individuals have trouble accepting differing views and block out conversation to avoid disagreement. After seeing this attitude in many teenagers, we hope to foster change. In order to facilitate peace and respect, people must be exposed to various views and learn to appreciate differences. Respectful discussion is essential in educating and creating tranquility.

Coming from small high schools, many students are shut down for differing viewpoints. For example, kids who do not affiliate themselves with a specific political party are shunned, but also, people who express radical opinions are ridiculed. We experience this intolerance firsthand and do not believe it is acceptable. In addition, we understand that people fear how others view them. Due to our experiences, we hope to create a website in which teens with diverging views and backgrounds can share their opinions regarding politics without being ostracized.

The Outlook does not tolerate fear and negativity. Rather, the political blog exposes teens to new opinions and serves as an outlet for adolescents to share views and have meaningful discussions. Through the website, teens can learn about varying perspectives and connect across various regions—near and far. We hope you look upon the Outlook to communicate, learn, and relate. We hope you enjoy the website as we do!
